Nissan Sentra
The Nissan Sentra is available in three trims: S, SV and the top-of-the-line SR. Nissan keeps things pretty simple with powertrain options for the Sentra, power comes from a solo engine choice: a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine making 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. Nissan mates that engine to an efficient Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) specifically designed to mimic the gears of a traditional automatic transmission. The eight generation Sentra utilizes newly independent rear suspension and dual-pinion-rack electronic power steering.
The base model Sentra S is more basic than other versions but is still equipped with plenty of nice features. Air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks and power windows are all generally expected and present. However, more upscale items that come standard on the S include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a USB port, remote keyless entry, and push-button start.
The mid-grade SV adds to the S with 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, 3 USB ports plus one USB-C port, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, adaptive cruise control, upgraded cloth seats, and a 7.0-inch digital vehicle info display.
The top SR trim comes with everything from the SV plus 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, and dark chrome trim.
Numerous safety systems come standard on the Sentra, including anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control. Nissan Intelligent Mobility with Safety Shield 360 is also standard offering a suite of active safety technology including a blind-spot monitor, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency front and rear braking. Sentra also comes equipped with Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System including 10 total airbags for every Sentra.
