Hyundai Kona Electric
Hyundai's designers managed the tough task of bringing the charm of the Kona's exterior design to the cabin while maintaining comfort and convenience. Quality materials, good ergonomics, and comfortable seats feel grown up and refined but not out of step with the Kona's funkadelic outward appearance.
The Kona Electric is powered by a 358-volt lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 64 kWh, that produces 201 horsepower and has the added benefit of producing zero tailpipe emissions. The electric motor smoothly delivers instant torque for quick acceleration.
When plugged in to a regular home outlet the Kona Electric will charge to 100% capacity in 9.5 hours however at charging stations, DC fast chargers can power up to an estimated 80% in under an hour. The Kona Electric has a range of 261 miles per charge. The advanced lithium-ion polymer battery is covered by a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
The Kona Electric comes in three trims the SE, SEL and Limited all with an extensive list of standard equipment. The SEL features 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors with turn signal indicators, LED daytime running lights, automatic climate control, cruise control, 8 beverage holders, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, a 6-speaker sound system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 4 USB ports.
The Limited adds a power sunroof, LED headlights and taillights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ventilated front seats, a power driver seat, a navigation system, wireless device charging, and front and rear parking sensors.
Safety features across the lineup include 6 airbags, an active lane departure system, blind spot warning, front and rear collision mitigation, a pedestrian detection system, a traffic sign information system and a driver attention alert.
